Darrel Lackey "Meet and Greet"

The Wentzvillian just received an email from mayor candidate Darrel Lackey announcing an inaugural "Meet and Greet." Since it is a known fact that Darrel Lackey and Leon Tow are the only two qualified men to be mayor of Wentzville, anytime either of them send me a notice like this one, it will be placed here.

  2. I've always liked Darrel Lackey. He was a good mayor the last time and he'll be better this time. Go Darrel!

  3. If you call having a huge Harrassment lawsuit against you from a city employee a great mayor then you need to rethink what a good mayor is. I have done my research on all of the candidates and I don't think any of them are qualified except one and that is the Guccione guy. I kept reading on here what a bad guy he is and doesnt do anything for the city but I think you are very wrong. I have done my homework on him just like I did for all of the other candidates and I also asked around Wentzville and the residents seem to agree with me that he is the best candidate. So the wentzvillian can bad mouth him or whatever they are trying to do but I think my vote and many other residents votes go to Guccione.

    1. I respect your opinion and believe your research to be incomplete. As far as a "huge harassment lawsuit from a city employee a great mayor," he and any public official are not employees and by choice are subject to public critisizm, the same as any one registered to run for office. If any of them wish to drop out of the race, the "harrassment" will cease. If it is their desire to file a lawsuit then that's their perogitive. Since about half of the candidates running are what I consider "sub-par" maybe they could file a class action law suit.
At any rate, you have been heard by the few who read my opinions. I have provided verifiable facts regarding your friend Guccione and will contimue to do so. Unless you can bring about verifiable facts that your candidate is worthy or somehow deserving of the position of mayor our conversation is finished. If you'd like to speak with my attorney, I'll be more than happy to provide you his number, just contact : thewentzvillian@aol.com threats won't work. I knew sooner or later the Guccione camp would stoop to threats and "sub-par" campaign practices rather than concentrating on what he has accomplished as an Alderman and will do if he is elected Mayor. Have a nice day!

    2. Why does this person call Alderman Nick Guccione "the Guccione guy?" Please tell me all you know about "the Guccione Guy."

    3. if you have done your homework on "the guccione guy," then you should be able to tell us, who may be against him, what he has done to earn our vote. just asking.

  4. I didn't read any threat from that commenter, wow you are quick to put up your guns when someone doesn't agree with your views. I have been reading some of what you have written and you sound like such an angry person. I can't get past your bully mentality to read through the facts. I don't know much about politics and am a pretty simple person so I'm sure you will attack me with your big vocabulary, but most people in Wentzville are pretty simple as well. All we want is a Mayor who looks out for the people, not his pocketbook or notch in his belt for the big businesses he can cram into the busiest parts of town while watching other parts of town die out. I don't know anything about the other candidates because other than you ramming them down our throats, I haven't seen or heard what they plan to do for our town. If they are going to let you do all the talking, that will be to their detriment for sure. What I do know is that Guccione has my vote because he was the only one of the Aldermen who went door to door in our neighborhood asking our views on a major development being built near our homes when Aldermen Tow wouldn't return a call or email. This says to me that he will consider what the people want before casting votes based on campaign contributers. He cannot be bought by THF or HBA or any other large corporation because he has proven his loyalty to the people and that's enough to get 2 votes in my house and hundreds from my neighborhood.

    1. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why you think Mr. Guccione is so dedicated to the people of Wentzville? He talks to us and sometimes seems to listen but he does nothing for us. He caves in everytime therte's any sort of pressure from anyone or any group. He doesn't think for himself, he votes the way the few who voice their opinions publicly want him to.
I just don't understand his lack of a record and he's never displayed any leadership qualities.

  5. I have a hard time with the fact that Wentzville employees get free medical insurance. We all share the cost of our benefits with our employers. To me it is just wrong that our city employees do not share this expense with their employer - us via our taxes. In addition, I think their costs are ridiculous at $1200 per month per employee. If they had to share the cost (say 25%), maybe they would a little more willing to shop for more cost effective coverage. In these economic times (or any time for that matter), everyone tightens their belts as may be necessary. Why should our city employees only be tightening our belts, and not their own. I want a mayor that recognizes this and the only one I understand who agrees is Darrel Lackey.
