"Your Choice Matters"

I was just handed a campaign mailer disguised as a questionnaire sent out by Alderman Nick Guccione and I had to chuckle to myself several times while reading it. Basically, It's a survey asking the citizens of Wentzville their opinion: "YOUR OPINION MATTERS!" It is a list of the the departments in the city and instructions to "Circle your response: Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor." A nifty little diversion from the base truth.

After perusing this mailing, I find that it contains absolutely nothing about what he has accomplished in five years as the Alderman of Ward 3. Instead, he asks you the voter, to grade the city. Of course, if he had  listed only his accomplishments, his photographs would have been the only thing on the paper. It is a trick tool by a tricky guy to divert attention from the fact that he's done nothing in five years except cough, sneeze, and take up space on the board.

I did find what has to be considered a major deception on it though, one bullet point reads: Alderman of Ward 3 since 2007 (Reelected by more than than 77 %.) That was in 2009, in his most recent reelection in 2011 he was unopposed. Had he been opposed, he would have lost in a landslide and be home looking in today.

I guess this questionnaire is his attempt to act mayorally but says nothing about what he's done for the past five years, what he will do if elected Mayor for the next four years, or when he loses what he'll do during his final year as an Alderman. His form gives the impression that he's on top of city government, but in reality it's only a diversion from his total lack of knowledge of what's going on in the city, and nonexistent involvement in the community. I find it hard to believe that anyone who works two jobs has the time or energy it takes to read and study the information it takes to be an alderman, or a Mayor of a city the size of Wentzville, it could be that someone is reading it for him and giving him the highlights.

I urge voters to fill out and return the form, he promises every one who does will be contacted. When he calls you, ask him what he's accomplished during his five years as Alderman, what he'll change if he's elected Mayor, and what his plans are for Ward 3 during his final year when he loses, I'd like to know. You might also ask why he recruited candidates for all of the wards, you may find the answer to that quite revealing about his "want to control the city" attitude, I know the answer to that.

Nick Guccione wants to be a career politician, he told me that personally, and I think you'll agree that there are way too many of those in this country already. After you talk with Guccione and you find just how tedious he is and how little he has done for Wentzville during his career so far, tell him what so many other citizens already know about him—zero. Remember to vote on April 3rd and show Guccione what Wentzville thinks of him; "We don't want a useless career politician taking up space in our city hall!"

  2. you are very wrong he is very active in our community. he has my vote and my family's vote. I wouldnt support anyone that you support because you are a very unlikable man. I believe if they are in your circle of friends they are more then likley as disrespectful as you are. I think Mr. Guccione's mailer was very smart. Atleast he seems to care about the voters opinions. you need to get a life and write about something else instead of always writing about Mr. Guccione. Your not going to sway our vote to your candidate esp because you support them.

    1. Another useless comment from a Guccione zombie. Guccione doesn't give a rats ass about voters opinions, he cares about votes. In his dreams when he's in the White House, I hope he remembers to send you a Christmas card.

    2. I respectfully disagree. Constituent views are part of Nick's decision-making process. From what I have seen, Nick's reaches a decision in the following manner:
      1. He finds limited facts.
      2. He publicly takes a position. For example he favored approval of Sam's Club.
      3. He listens to people who hate his position, ignoring what's best for the city, or what's best for his constituents. For example, he reacted to a limited number of people who were outside his ward. How would the denial of the Sam's Club benefit his voters?
      4. He panders to ANY vocal minority. See Sam's Club.
      5. He flips.
      6. He claims he's listened to the people, not understanding that we live in a representative democracy.
      7. He looses, unable to lead other aldermen to his position.

  3. If you weren't so afraid of him winning you would not even take the time to talk so mean about him. You continue to make your favorites look bad by this blog. Some day you may become a nice guy but until then you look like a fool. So many people are talking about not voting for Tow or Lackey just because of you. Good job.

  4. I really enjoy this person who calls me a fool, says how great Guccione is, and how much he's done, but never elaborates on what his accomplishments are. I think the voters will recognize real experience and ability to lead our city when they choose either Darrel Lackey or Leon Tow.

  5. I have been watching the city for a while. The only thing Nick has going for him is the fact that he is always for and against every issue. It's sad that we have this level of pandering in our city. He comes across as caring when he talks to you but as soon as he is talking to the other side he is right there with them too. I have not seen anything the would qualify him to run our city. Unfortunatly he is great at getting people to believe that he is something that he is not. We all know that be dreams bigger than just mayor. His team will stop at nothing in order to win. If your in their way, watch out.

    1. The Wentzvillian is in his way and will do what it takes to expose him for the fraud he is, without fear!

  6. What will Nick do with the survey results? It'll likely be impossible to determine a next step. Anyway... shouldn't a good alderman know, or have a very good idea, which parts of Wentzville's government need improvement? It might be nice to read where Nick sees problems, and his solutions.

    1. He'll put them in a scapbook so when he's old and gray he can show all of his great-grandchildren how important he was to get so many letters from people who loved him. Maybe he'll start the Guccione memorial library.

  7. Instead of lining through Nick's name, I suggest The Wentzvilian provide Nick with a nickname. I humbly suggest "Flipper" because it fits, and because it has a ready-made theme song, which mostly fits. Here are the lyrics:

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
    Flying there-under, under the sea!

Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
    Flying there-under, under the sea!
